Candidate must have at least 12 months full time experience in the occupation within the past 2 years.
Our client is seeking a trainee with minimum 12 months recent experience in metal fabrication. The key skills you need to have include:
Study blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements.•Select, clean and prepare metal stock.•Cut marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cuttingmachines.•Align parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments.•Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, screwing, bolting and riveting.•Examine welds for width of bead, penetration and precision.•Finish products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions.•Clean and smooth welds by filing, chiselling and grinding.•Manufacture and install metal handrails, balustrades, pool fencing, privacy screens & awnings.•Perform accurate site measures using lasers I measuring tapes I etc.•Calculate and produce material order I cut lists.•Produce shop drawings according to site measure anti client specifications.•Head and interpret workshop drawing•Fabricate stainless steel, steel and aluminium components by cutting, marking out, punching, drilling, grinding, joining, assembling, machining, etc.•Perform MIG & TIG and Arc welding on stainless steel, mild steel and aluminium sections.•Propose engineering solutions to overcome problems in design, manufacture or installation.•Manage and schedule daily workshop and site activities and perform quality assurance checks and ensure all workmanship is within quality pararneters and meetsstatutory and company requirements.•Assume overall responsibility for the successful delivery of metal work projects.
Trainee must be prepared to relocate and work in Sydsney.
